Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

1. Introduction

Robin Paul Garaboeuf, ABN 48 991 983 945, trading as Fast Job ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how you can exercise your rights. It applies to all users of the Fast Job mobile application ("App").

By using the App you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Full name, email address, and phone number
  • Profile photo and biography
  • Date of birth (Workers only, for eligibility verification)
  • Home address (Workers only, used for job matching — never shared with Recruiters)
  • Professional information: industry preferences, certifications, equipment, licences, work experience
  • Company name, ABN, industry, and logo (Recruiters only)
  • Job postings including location, pay rate, schedule, and requirements (Recruiters only)
  • Ratings and reviews you submit about other users
  • Messages or support requests sent to us

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device push notification token (Expo push token, used to deliver notifications)
  • GPS location, when you grant location permission, used to show nearby jobs and count eligible workers for last-minute postings
  • App usage data, session activity, and error logs collected via Supabase infrastructure
  • IP address and device metadata (operating system, device model) collected as part of authentication
  • App Store / Play Store identifiers used solely for app distribution and analytics provided by Apple / Google

2.3 Payment information

Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

2.4 Information we do NOT collect

  • We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural-tracking SDKs
  • We do not track your activity across other apps and websites for advertising purposes (no IDFA / Apple App Tracking Transparency prompts)
  • We do not sell your personal information

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account and verify your identity
  • Match Workers with relevant job opportunities based on location, industry, and preferences
  • Send push notifications for last-minute jobs, application updates, and platform communications (subject to your notification preferences)
  • Process subscription payments and job posting fees via Stripe
  • Calculate and display reliability and recommendation scores on user profiles
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
  • Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations under Australian law
  • Improve the App through aggregated, de-identified analytics

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4.1 Information visible to other users

Workers: Your name, profile photo, city, reliability score, certifications, equipment, licences, experience, and reviews are visible to Recruiters who view your profile. Your home address, date of birth, email address, and phone number are never displayed to Recruiters until they accept your application.

Recruiters: Your company name, logo, city, recommendation score, and reviews are visible to Workers. Your contact details are only shared with Workers whose applications you accept.

4.2 Third-party service providers

We share data with the following service providers who process it on our behalf under data processing agreements:

  • Supabase, Inc. (USA) — database, authentication, and real-time data infrastructure
  • Stripe, Inc. (USA) — payment processing and subscription management
  • Mapbox, Inc. (USA) — address autocomplete and mapping
  • Expo (USA) — push notification delivery infrastructure
  • Apple Inc. (USA) — APNs, for iOS push notification delivery and App Store distribution
  • Google LLC (USA) — FCM, for Android push notification delivery and Play Store distribution
  • Australian Business Register (ABR) — used to verify Recruiter ABN at signup; only the ABN is sent (no personal data)

4.3 Legal disclosure

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or the integrity of the App.

4.4 Business transfers

If we merge with or are acquired by another entity, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Location Data

We access your device location only when you explicitly grant permission. Location data is used to:

  • Display nearby jobs on the feed and alerts page
  • Estimate the number of Workers within a Recruiter's selected radius for last-minute notifications
  • Determine which Workers receive last-minute job push notifications

Your precise GPS coordinates are processed in real time and are not stored permanently on our servers. Your home address (if provided) is stored securely and is used only for job matching — it is never displayed to Recruiters.

You may disable location access at any time in your device settings. This will limit job-matching features that rely on your current location.

6. Push Notifications

We use Expo's push notification infrastructure to deliver notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android.

Your Expo push token is stored in our database and used solely to deliver notifications to your device. It is not shared with third parties beyond the delivery infrastructure described above.

You can manage which types of notifications you receive from the Notifications screen in the App. You may also disable all notifications at the OS level at any time.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases. Supabase operates infrastructure in multiple regions; data may be stored and processed in the United States. By using the App you consent to this international transfer.

We implement the following security measures:

  • Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on all database tables to enforce access controls
  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • Encrypted storage for authentication credentials
  • Rate limiting on authentication endpoints to prevent brute-force attacks
  • Regular security reviews of database access policies and edge functions

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (for example, transaction records for tax compliance, kept for up to 7 years under Australian tax law).

Aggregated, de-identified analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Your Rights (Australian Privacy Principles)

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal information
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your personal information

You can delete your account directly from the App settings (Settings → My Account → Delete account). Other requests can be sent to contact@fast-jobs.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The App is rated 17+ on the Apple App Store to reflect that it is intended for adults seeking employment or hiring staff.

If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@fast-jobs.com.au so we can delete it promptly.

11. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, the Stripe billing portal, our website at fast-jobs.com.au). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with any personal information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
